The Acorn subject matter experts recognise that despite each generation adapting to the times, they often hold different approaches and priorities that can lead to conflict. The current working generations are baby boomers, generation X, millennials and generation Z. While it is rarer to encounter baby boomers in the workforce today, there are many workplaces which can see all these generations interconnected.
Consider that each generation approaches work differently. Older generations are satisfied with annual reviews while younger generations like to get frequent or instant feedback. Older generations care deeply about their standing in an organisation while younger generations place value on what an organisation can provide them in terms of opportunity, education and growth.
