SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- Australian Cruise Group has launched its full program of Vivid Sydney cruises for the 2026 festival season, offering a range of on-water experiences during the event from 22 May to 13 June on Sydney Harbour. The program includes premium dining cruises and value-focused spectator experiences across vessels including Showboat, Clearview, Magistic, and more, providing visitors with alternate perspectives of the festival's large-scale light installations and harbour activations.
The launch comes as Vivid Sydney 2026 prepares for one of its most ambitious editions yet, featuring major new installations across the city and harbour foreshore. And since many of the festival's major works are centred around the foreshore, Australian Cruise Group says demand for on-water cruise viewing experiences continues to grow among locals and visitors seeking unobstructed views of the lights.

The operator also says that their vessels have been designed to deliver different viewing experiences depending on guest preferences. Aboard the Showboat, Sydney's only paddlewheeler, guests can experience the Vivid Lights from wrap-around verandahs and cathedral windows that frame the illuminated skyline. This Lights viewing experience is paired with a 3-course meal and a live cabaret show, 'The Voyage of Love'.
The Clearview Glass Boat takes the viewing experience further with its glass-wrapped decks and Sky Deck offering 360° views, giving diners uninterrupted views of major projection sites and illuminated landmarks throughout the cruise experience. It is also the unrivaled luxury dining cruise on the harbour.
As opposed to these luxury dining experiences, the Magistic Vivid Sydney cruise offers a spectator-focused experience with multiple viewing decks and large panoramic windows. The vessel operates both early-evening and peak-time departures, allowing guests to experience varying stages of the festival across the harbour. The early departure gives people the 6pm 'Lights On' moment, and the later departure offers the views of Lights when the harbour is at its peak.

All three vessels are also expected to participate in 'Vivid Lights on Sydney Harbour', a coordinated illuminated flotilla in which boats and ferries light up the harbour in sync with the city's skyline, making travellers part of the installation itself. And on selected Showboat and Clearview departures, people can also enjoy a fireworks display on May 28 & 29, and June 4, 5, 11, and 12.
Bookings are now open and early reservations are strongly recommended for the best vivid cruise deals!
