BRISBANE, Australia - AussieJournal -- COVID concerns and confinement are driving people to seek feel-good treatments that make them look and feel healthier, according to the operator of one of Brisbane's leading medispas.
KAILO Wellness Medispa co-owner Kath Merlo said the luxury New Farm centre had seen a 20 per cent rise in intravenous vitamin formulas as clients searched for ways to boost their immune systems and energy levels.
"Since we reopened after the initial lockdown, we've had a 50 per cent increase in people having massages and our vitamin infusions are also up by 20 per cent," Ms Merlo said.
"Interest in self-care and well-being has increased during these challenging COVID times amongst both men and women. People are looking for that feel-good factor."
Ms Merlo said KAILO, which is located inside The Calile Hotel on James Street, was also receiving bookings from guests who were on 'staycations' because their travel plans had been cancelled.
"People are still looking for a holiday but they've had to cancel their interstate and overseas trips," she said.

"We're seeing lots of couples and groups of friends staying at the hotel for a weekend of wining, dining and relaxing which includes a treatment or therapy that makes them look good and improves their health at the same time."
Recently awarded the top Luxury Medical Spa in Australia, KAILO opened nearly two years ago to offer a new and holistic range of cosmetic, medical and beauty services in the stylish hotel precinct.
Combining traditional spa therapies with state-of-art medical techniques, KAILO co-founder Kristy Morris said the Medispa offered a range of medical and wellbeing therapies, from non-surgical face lifts to gut health programs and fat-dissolving treatments.
"COVID has led many people to try new treatments that make them look and feel healthier," Ms Morris said.
"Busy men and women who feel cooped up from COVID restrictions are looking for ways to recharge their bodies and clear their minds.
"KAILO is continually looking for new technologies and treatments that improve people's holistic health. We don't just want to help clients look good. We want them to feel great too."
