HealthEd Australia held their Annual Women's & Children's Health Update 2023, at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Center (PCEC) on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The critically acclaimed book Blood Works: An Owner's Guide was featured by two of its authors, Clinical Associate Professor Pradeep Jayasuriya and Professor Shannon Farmer.
PERTH, Australia - AussieJournal -- 650 medical professionals gathered for the Annual Women's & Children's Health Update 2023 described by HealthEd as a "high-quality educational programme presented by leading experts focusing on practical clinical issues that GP's are faced with every day". One GP commented, "HealthEd sets the benchmark for quality education!"
Clinical Associate Professor Pradeep Jayasuriya, a contributing author of Blood Works: An Owner's Guide, and founder of the first community-based iron infusion facility in Australia the WA Iron Centre, also served as a chair for the afternoon at this HealthEd conference.

Professor Jayasuriya explained, "To be one of the 48 authors from around the world on the Blood Works book was truly a fabulous experience. The reaction of both the medical and non-medical audience has been incredible. It so exciting to see our book help bridge the gap between doctor and patient, resulting in better patient outcomes and better quality of care."
Professor Shannon Farmer, lead author of this global collaboration, was on hand as the book was on display for all in attendance. Remarking on the day Professor Farmer said: "What an outstanding HealthEd conference. These updates are doing so much good in Australia. We are so very pleased to see the impact of quality health education in primary care."
In association with World Anemia Awareness, a special promotion for the eBook version of Blood Works: An Owner's Guide was available for download throughout the event. Paperbacks and eBooks are available from the official Blood Works: An Owner's Guide website and distributed globally by Simon & Schuster.
