A comprehensive roundup of monthly activity in the PPE, safety equipment and distributor space.
SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- LCC Asia Pacific® has published the October edition of its Monthly Board News Brief on PPE workwear and protective systems. It covers developments from 1 to 26 October 2026 across industrial protective apparel, healthcare and emergency protection, defence body armour, safety footwear, standards and product surveillance, and corporate and distribution activity.
The October brief covers new products, including multi-hazard workwear from Protective Industrial Products and Gore, Mölnlycke's MyFit surgical gloves and Arclin's lighter Kevlar EXO soft-armour material. It also covers contract awards for specialist fire-service and public-order protection in the United Kingdom, and MSA Safety's connected gas-detection agreement with a US utility. On regulation and safety, it reports that 82% of 83 sampled safety-shoe models failed EU surveillance checks, along with the EU's PFHxA restrictions taking effect and new Great Britain PPE standards. Deal activity includes Bunzl's acquisition of Blueleaf Care, Båstadgruppen's acquisition of Hawedo and Protecthoms' acquisition of Steol. The brief also tracks a cohort of 28 distributors and retailers across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Europe and North America.
