URO Corp are using their recently acquired SciAps X-555 pXRF to accelerate mining exploration projects with the ability to carry out highly accurate geological analyses in-field. They are focussed on U, Cu, Zn, Li, Ni, Au, W, Sn and other REE.
WARRIEWOOD, Australia - AussieJournal -- URO Corp is an Australian-based exploration and mining company that recently purchased a SciAps X-555 portable X-ray Fluorescence (pXRF) instrument from AXT. The acquisition of the X-555 has enabled them to accelerate their activities and freed them from their dependency on third party testing services by providing high accuracy, in-field analyses as well as rapid in-lab testing.
The SciAps X-555 is the latest generation pXRF and boasts the lightest weight and most powerful X-ray source of any system on the market. Combined with its ability to measure elements from magnesium to uranium, it is ideal suited for use in exploration geology.

URO Corp. own extensive landholdings covering over 12,500 square kilometres of highly prospective and underexplored ground in central and northern Australia. Their focus is on energy minerals essential to the generation of carbon-free base-load energy, construction of renewable energy infrastructure and storage that energy.
With the vastness of their tenements in mind and target minerals containing metals such as uranium, REE, copper, zinc, lithium, nickel, gold, tungsten and tin, the rugged, highly portable SciAps X-555 came into its own. In the words of Dr Andre Coffa, "in our assessment, the X-555 is the only factory-built REE focused portable XRF unit. That is, all others pXRF units require a software modification. As our tenements have enormous REE potential, this was an obvious choice for URO."
When asked about their experience with the pXRF thus far, he went on to say, "The X-555 pXRF is easy-to-use, which saves us time in the field and in the laboratory. It is well calibrated for REE and the base metal elements in both soil and mining modes. It efficiently captures accurate data, allowing for targeted samples to be sent for full assay analysis, thereby saving thousands in geochemistry costs."

Justin Orr, Director at URO Corp. added, "we are looking forward to getting out and exploring our tenements more closely using the pXRF and dirt bikes which will provide us excellent levels of access. As an early stage mining company, we are also conscious of closely monitoring our cashflow. With this in mind, we are open to hiring our pXRF so others can experience the same benefits we are enjoying."
