JT Solar Technology, VOLTVAL and UNSW present MPPS, a TRaCE-supported clean energy project.
HOMEBUSH WEST, Australia - AussieJournal -- With the support of the Australian Government's Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) program, JT Solar Technology Pty Ltd, VOLTVAL and UNSW have presented the Modular Power Portal System (MPPS), an AI-enabled clean energy system being developed for strata and multi-unit residential buildings.
MPPS is the first major project to emerge from a $1.2 million research collaboration between JT Solar Technology, VOLTVAL and UNSW, with support from TRaCE. The system was presented at the VOLTVAL Grand Opening Ceremony in Homebush West, where around 30 guests from government, research and industry joined facility tours, stakeholder interviews and networking.
Developed by VOLTVAL and JT Solar Technology, MPPS is a containerised energy platform that integrates rooftop solar generation, community-scale battery storage and intelligent energy management. Through the partnership with UNSW, the system is being enhanced with an AI-enabled optimisation layer designed to forecast and balance energy flows across multiple dwellings in real time.

The project addresses a key barrier in Australia's clean energy transition: many residents in strata and multi-unit buildings have limited access to rooftop solar, even when their buildings have available roof space. MPPS aims to create a practical pathway for these communities to share the benefits of solar generation, battery storage and smarter energy management.
Hosted by VOLTVAL and JT Solar Technology, the event brought together government, research, industry and key project partners, including Beaumont Strata Management, Ocean Building Management, SAJ Electric, Squared-X, One Stop Warehouse and Piper Alderman.
Guests included Mr Jason Yat-sen Li MP, Member for Strathfield; Dr Matthew Wilkinson from the Australian Government Department of Education; Carson Gao, CEO and Founder of the Chinese Building Association NSW; Associate Professor Huadong Mo and Dr Ripon Chakrabortty from UNSW; and Robert Gordon, Senior R&D Portfolio Manager at TRaCE.
Steve Doyle of VOLTVAL and Jason Xiao of JT Solar Technology spoke about the next phase of Australia's energy transition and the role of industry, university research and government-backed commercialisation support in bringing clean energy innovation into real-world deployment.
