The free Australian SMS service now monitors 2,460 campgrounds across seven states and territories, helping campers catch cancellations without repeatedly checking booking sites.

SUNSHINE COAST, Australia - AussieJournal -- CampWatch, a free Australian campground availability alert service, has expanded its coverage to 2,460 campgrounds across NSW, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the ACT. That is more than double the 1,164 locations monitored in April 2026.

The Australian-built service watches official booking systems around the clock. Campers choose a campground, stay dates and group size, then verify their mobile number. If a matching place becomes available, CampWatch sends an SMS with the official booking link.

The service is designed for popular campgrounds where cancelled bookings can be taken again within minutes. Instead of repeatedly refreshing booking pages, campers can create up to three active alerts and let CampWatch keep checking.

"Sold out does not always mean a campsite will stay unavailable," said Campbell Duncan, founder of CampWatch. "I built CampWatch so Australian campers could stop refreshing booking pages and get on with planning their trip. Reaching 2,460 monitored campgrounds means more people can use a simple alert instead of relying on luck."

CampWatch requires no app, account, password or credit card, and there is no paid tier. Setting up an alert takes about 30 seconds.

CampWatch does not reserve sites or bypass official booking processes. Availability remains first come, first served. Each alert links campers directly to the relevant official booking flow, where they complete the reservation themselves.

Campers can browse supported campgrounds and create a free alert at https://campwatch.com.au.
