SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- It's important to stay up-to-date the with the latest commercial air conditioning innovations, in order to save money and energy. Let's cover two of these innovations today.
1. Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers
One of the most effective ways to increase energy efficiency in HVAC systems is by using air-to-air heat exchangers. These systems capture the temperature from exhaust air (air that would normally be discarded) and use it to pre-condition incoming fresh air.
For example, in a commercial space where the inside air is cooled or heated, this "waste" air can pass through a heat exchanger and transfer its temperature to incoming outdoor air before it enters the system. This decreases the amount of energy needed to cool or heat the fresh air from scratch, making the entire process more efficient and cost-effective.

2. Economy Cycle Cooling (Free Cooling)
Another increasingly common innovation in commercial air conditioning is the use of economy cycles, also known as free cooling. When outdoor air conditions are favourable – such as cooler evening temperatures, these systems draw in fresh air to assist or replace mechanical cooling.
Instead of running compressors and chillers around the clock, an economy cycle taps into suitable external conditions to deliver comfort with minimal energy use. It's an ideal solution for many commercial spaces where ventilation and comfort are needed around the clock.
