MELBOURNE, Australia - AussieJournal -- A new study by TOPdesk, a leading service management solution provider, reveals that poor processes and menial tasks rob employees of job satisfaction.
Numerous studies over the years have measured the detrimental impact of poor job satisfaction on productivity at anywhere between 6.6% and 31%. While the extent of the impact varies, there is consensus that improved job satisfaction and improved productivity go hand in hand - with significant implications and opportunities for Australian businesses.
The TOPdesk study, based on a survey of information technology professionals in Australia, also sheds light on the factors that contribute to higher levels of job satisfaction. The study found that those who were very satisfied with their jobs spent less time on menial tasks, such as administrative to-dos and trying to adhere to inefficient processes.
Of those able to identify the amount of time spent on menial tasks each day, a staggering 83% say these consumed an hour or more of their day.
The survey also identified tremendous opportunity for more streamlined processes and improved efficiency, with 86.16% of all respondents reporting their company's service management needing improvement and 23.58% very dissatisfied with their service management platform.
