Caybas Digital's free site check runs six tests on any Australian business website, including whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity are allowed to read it, and emails the findings in minutes.

SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- Caybas Digital, a Sydney based marketing consultancy, has released a free site check that tells business owners whether Google and the AI search engines can read, index and cite their website.

The check reads a site's home page and up to four linked pages and reports six results, each a pass, a warning or a fail with one plain sentence:
- whether AI crawlers are allowed in;
- whether the business is described in structured data;
- whether pages are indexable with a single canonical address;
- Core Web Vitals from real visitors;
- whether an llms.txt file is published;
- whether pages open with a direct answer that an AI engine can quote;

The findings are emailed within minutes. There is no cost and no call.

The check exists because of a pattern the consultancy sees in audits: a growing share of searches now end in an AI-generated answer rather than a list of links, and many small business websites are invisible to those answers for reasons that take an hour to fix. The most common is a robots.txt file or a firewall that blocks the crawlers ChatGPT and Perplexity use, often set years ago without anyone knowing.

"A plumber whose site blocks GPTBot does not appear when someone asks ChatGPT for a plumber in their suburb, and they generally have no way of knowing," said Umit Caybas, founder of Caybas Digital. "The check takes a minute and tells them. What they do about it is up to them."
