MONTREAL - AussieJournal -- The annual International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF), hosted by the International Institute of Forecasters (IIF), will be held June 28-July 1 this year at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Integrating academic research into forecasting practice, the ISF draws the world's top forecasters and researchers, as presenters and participants, to unveil and discuss the latest advances in the profession.
As the forecasting community's premier international conference, the ISF showcases the full range of forecasting sectors. This year's event features topics on macroeconomic forecasting, judgmental forecasting, electricity demand, inventory control and supply chains, forecast communication, machine learning, tourism, information technology, forecasting for public good, and many others.
"The symposium offers a unique opportunity for prominent forecasting professionals to share their insights and expertise. The event will feature an engaging scientific and practitioner agenda, as well as ample networking opportunities, making it an unforgettable experience for all attendees," said Dalibor Stevanovic, General Chair of ISF 2026, and Professor at Department of Economics, ESG UQAM school of Management Sciences.
The biennial Arnold Zellner Memorial Keynote Address, named in honor of the late professor emeritus of Economics and Statistics at the University of Chicago, will be delivered by Mark Watson, Professor of Economics and Public Affairs, Princeton University.

Other notable speakers include Emmanuel Candes, Professor of Mathematics and of Statistics, Stanford University; Domenico Giannone, Professor of Economics and Statistics, The Johns Hopkins University; James Hamilton, Professor of Economics, University of California San Diego; and Serena Ng, Professor of Economics, Columbia University.
In addition to the academic speakers, the 46th ISF will present the ISF Forecasting in Practice Track to meet the professional development needs of business forecasting practitioners. Forecasting professionals and industry experts from Valtitude/Demand Planning Net, Boston College, Prediconsult, Kapitalo, The Forecasting Company, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning will be presenting the latest in forecasting practice.

In conjunction with the ISF, the ninth IIF Summer School will be offered June 27-28 at the same venue. The two-day course provides in-depth analysis of a cutting-edge topic in forecasting from an ISF invited speaker. This year's topic, Forecasting Risks, will be taught by professor Domenico Giannone, Professor of Economics and Statistics, The Johns Hopkins University. Attendance at the Summer School is limited.
