Through a new partnership, Acmeware will provide a FHIR-enabled integration layer that allows Avo to access MEDITECH clinical data in real time at the point of care.
MEDFIELD, Mass. - AussieJournal -- Acmeware, a MEDITECH Alliance Partner, announced a partnership with Avo (AvoMD), an AI platform for clinical copilots and a fellow MEDITECH Alliance Partner. Together, the organizations are enabling MEDITECH customers to seamlessly push and pull data between MEDITECH and Avo's AI-powered clinical tools. As part of this partnership, Acmeware will serve as a seamless data integration layer for Avo's AI suite within MEDITECH environments, delivering a standards-based API using the HL7® FHIR® data format.
Through Acmeware's FHIR-enabled API, Avo can securely access real-time clinical data from MEDITECH to power context-aware, evidence-based decision support at the point of care. The integration is designed to align with MEDITECH architecture and interoperability frameworks while minimizing implementation complexity for provider organizations with one simple install.
Early adopters of the Acmeware–Avo integration include Moab Regional Hospital, Emanate Health, and Holyoke Medical Center, all of which are leveraging the solution to streamline access to AI-generated insights and documentation directly within their MEDITECH systems.
AI capabilities that will be further enhanced with this real-time integration include: Avo's Chart Assist functionality for workflows like pre-charting, admissions, and discharge, Ask Avo, a smart EHR-search and AI consult with patient data awareness, and AI Scribe, with longitudinal patient context awareness and automatic note-pushing.

"This partnership reflects our focus on delivering production-grade interoperability using modern standards," said Joel Benware, President and CEO of Acmeware. "By exposing MEDITECH data through a robust FHIR-based API, we're giving healthcare organizations flexible, scalable options to connect Avo's AI-driven insights directly to MEDITECH."
The collaboration expands upon Avo's existing relationship with MEDITECH through its Alliance partnership, while offering customers additional integration paths powered by Acmeware's interoperability expertise. Acmeware's integration layer ensures reliable access to the required clinical context—including patient, encounter, and observation data—while maintaining performance, security, and compliance requirements.
"At Avo, we've partnered with over 30 MEDITECH customers to support clinical workflows with the latest and greatest in AI at the point of care," said Joongheum Park, MD, Chief Product & AI Officer at Avo. "Working with Acmeware allows us to extend the value of our AI tools within MEDITECH environments in ways that fit naturally into provider workflows."
The partnership supports healthcare organizations seeking to extend MEDITECH with external clinical decision support capabilities while adhering to interoperability best practices. Together, Acmeware and Avo aim to simplify integration, reduce maintenance overhead, and support clinically meaningful use of real-time data.
Why it matters
As healthcare organizations increasingly look to extend EHR functionality using third-party applications, standards-based integration has become critical. This partnership highlights how FHIR APIs can be used to deliver real-time clinical decision support in MEDITECH environments.
