WALPOLE, Mass. - April 25, 2019 - AussieJournal -- Acumentrics is pleased to announce it has received a grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. This project is funded by a Workforce Training Fund and the grant program is administered by Commonwealth Corporation.
The resources provided by this grant will allow Acumentrics to embark on the critical journey towards providing the services and certifications (AS 9100 and NIST 800-171 via ISO 27001) required by our customer base which is 80% driven by the United States Department of Defense (DoD). Acumentrics will benefit greatly from these certifications, ensuring compliance mandated by the United States government and opening new markets with the aerospace industry.
"This recognition is an example of the State's tremendous commitment to its Massachusetts based businesses and employees. This grant allows us to accelerate our employee development and training, cyber security, and overall quality, enabling us to perpetually improve and innovate, which are core objectives of Acumentrics." Governor Charlie Baker has designated Commonwealth Corporation to organize and lead his new Commission on Digital Innovation and Lifelong Learning. Launching in April 2018 and working through the fall, the Commission will examine the implications of accelerating technology on the nature of work, the future of jobs in Massachusetts, and what effective post-secondary education and training looks like in the 21st century. The Commission will recommend new, digitally-enabled steps to dramatically increase the availability of affordable, flexible, employer-relevant learning for Massachusetts residents throughout their lives. The Commission is comprised of executives from some of Massachusetts' largest companies, college and university presidents, community and workforce system leaders, innovators in digital learning, and leading scholars of learning science, organizations, and the future of education and work. It is supported by a project team at Commonwealth Corporation and a team affiliated with Harvard Business School and its Forum for Growth and Innovation.
