- What is Industrial Air Conditioning?
SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- One of our long-standing clients, recently came to us with a unique challenge at a regional site. Their facility was unmanned and situated in a remote area, with no available water supply and only basic electrical services, yet required precise humidity control for sensitive equipment.
The climate control system wasn't designed for human comfort, it was entirely for machine comfort, where controlling internal humidity levels was critical to preventing corrosion, condensation, and performance issues. While reducing humidity is relatively straightforward using air conditioning (which condenses moisture from the air during the cooling process), increasing humidity is far more complex. It typically requires a clean water supply, as moisture needs to be introduced back into the air to maintain a stable internal climate. With no water source on-site, a standard humidification system simply wasn't an option.
The Solution: A Self-Sufficient Humidification System
To meet the site's needs, Coral Air Conditioning designed a self-contained solution using a 1000-litre water tank and a duty/standby pump arrangement. Fresh water was transported from Sydney, and once the tanks were installed on-site, we pumped in the full 1000 litres and sealed the system to keep it clean and stable. This setup allows the system to operate autonomously and efficiently in a harsh, isolated environment. The dual-pump system ensures reliability—with a standby pump ready to take over should the primary pump fail. This automatic switchover ensures continuous operation and reduces the need for urgent technician callouts. To further protect the system, we integrated a low water level alarm, programmed to trigger when the tank reaches 25% capacity. This gives the control centre ample time to schedule a technician visit to top up the tank before operations are affected.

In addition, all system components are remotely monitored, so the client is alerted immediately if a fault occurs, ensuring peace of mind and uninterrupted performance.
The Outcome
This innovative solution allowed the client to achieve reliable, stable humidity control in a location where traditional systems simply wouldn't work. It's a great example of how Coral Air Conditioning can design and deliver tailored commercial air conditioning and climate control solutions, even under the most challenging site conditions.
