PERTH, Australia - AussieJournal -- Locale Homes is turning the spotlight away from bricks and mortar and onto the people who make Perth a better place to live.
The independent building broker has launched Locale Legend, a community campaign celebrating everyday Australians who go above and beyond for others.
And the stories already coming in are powerful.
One nomination tells of a clinical nurse working 12+ hour shifts in a busy emergency department (while pregnant) determined to save for her first home before prices rise again.
Another highlights a healthcare professional who stands beside families through stillbirth and pregnancy loss, holding space for heartbreak and love when joy suddenly turns to grief.
Others speak of emergency department nurses who keep people alive for a living, advocate fiercely for patient safety, and still find humour to help patients laugh on what may be their worst day.

These are the legends walking among us.
Giving back to the community that backs us
Locale Homes was founded on the belief that buyers deserve someone in their corner, not a builder's bottom line.
As Perth's independent building broker, Locale Homes helps homebuyers compare across multiple builders, avoid hidden costs, and move through the building journey with clarity and confidence.
But Founder and Managing Director Adam Schaal says Locale Legend is about something bigger than property.
"We work with people during some of the biggest milestones of their lives, building their first home, creating stability for their family, planning their future. But homes are only part of the story. Communities are built by people," Schaal said.
"Reading about healthcare workers advocating for patients at their most vulnerable, supporting families through unimaginable loss, or working back-to-back emergency shifts while planning their own futures, that's real impact. That's what makes a legend."

Stories that deserve to be told
Healthcare workers were chosen as the first focus of the campaign because they show up every day in high-pressure environments where patient care must always come first.
Emergency departments see people at their most vulnerable. Yet nurses and clinicians work long shifts, advocate for patients, keep them informed, and fight to ensure they leave better than they arrived.
"These stories are humbling," Schaal said. "There are people in our community doing extraordinary things quietly, without recognition. Locale Legend is about shining a light on them."
