Noizend Can Offer Possible Solutions for Reducing Aircraft Noise
SYDNEY - AussieJournal -- Noizend Pty Ltd, an emerging leader in low-frequency noise control, has lodged a detailed submission to the Australian Senate Inquiry investigating "The impact and mitigation of aircraft noise on residents and business in capital cities and regional towns."
Planes are very noisy – on takeoff, on landing and also when flying over people's homes. Increasingly, some airports are operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Two Australian examples are Brisbane Airport operates 24/7 and the new second airport for Sydney is legislated to also operate 24/7.
Understandably people living near airports and people living under flight paths are very upset about the noise and the adverse impact on their quality of life and health.
The Senate Inquiry is due to report by 8 October 2024. The Senate allowed public submissions. There were over 250 submissions. As expected most of the submissions from the general public were complaints about noise and also requesting that night curfews for Brisbane and Western Sydney airports be introduced. Submissions from airports, airlines and industries dependent on aviation supported the number of flights and 24/7 operations.

Quote from Paul Monsted, CEO and Managing Director:
"Noizend can offer a possible solution to reduce aircraft noise through development of our innovative Noizend Shield technologies and products. Noizend and our University associates have a significant project to reduce aircraft noise around airports and also for residents under flight paths."
Quote from George Tulloch, CTO and Director:
"Noizend's Aircraft Noise Project is an extension of an existing project for advanced smart acoustic panels to reduce noise in the outdoors from roadways and rail lodged by Noizend and leading Australian Universities for an Australian Government ARC Linkage grant application. Controlling aircraft noise is a complex problem however the significant advances in artificial intelligence provides a scientific base for the feasibility of this innovative project."
