Dr. Peter Beven joins the SkillsTX Board as SkillsTX builds the trust layer that credentialing has been missing
BRISBANE, Australia - AussieJournal -- SkillsTX today announced the acquisition of Credentials Cloud, expanding its AI-native capability assurance platform and raising the bar for digital credentialing, credential verification, competency validation, and skills verification.
The world has no shortage of credentials. It has a shortage of proof.
Across higher education, training providers, credential issuers, and employers, we still celebrate "completion" as if it equals capability. That shortcut used to be convenient. Now it is expensive. The AI-augmented workforce is already clocked in, expectations are rising, and proxy signals are cracking under scrutiny.
SkillsTX and Credentials Cloud are making a clean break with the old deal. Not "trust the transcript." Not "collect more badges." Not "hope it transfers." Proof, or it did not happen.

With Credentials Cloud, SkillsTX shifts digital credentialing from signaling to evidence. From "issued" to "verified." From "looks good" to "holds up." This goes beyond badges and transcripts by translating learning into skills intelligence, validating attainment against trusted standards, strengthening credential governance, and enabling interoperable credential verification at scale using verifiable credentials and modern learning and employment records.
"Higher education is full of extraordinary people doing meaningful work, but the system still struggles to prove outcomes in a way employers can trust," said John Kleist III, Chief Growth and Alliances Officer at SkillsTX. "Issuing a credential is easy. Proving competence is hard. We are building the trust layer that credentialing has been missing, so learning can be recognized as a capability, not just time served."
Dr. Peter Beven added, "The future of credentialing is not more signals. It is defensible capability. If learning cannot be evidenced, explained, and verified against standards, it is just optimism in a different format."

Paul Collins, CEO of SkillsTX, said, "Credentialing is at an inflection point. The market does not need more badges. It needs credential verification that stands up under an objective audit. Credentials Cloud strengthens our ability to help credential issuers, institutions, and employers prove capability with evidence, at scale, without forcing reinvention."
Why this matters now: Skills-based hiring is accelerating, and AI is amplifying the cost of wrong assumptions. Credentials either reduce risk or create it. The institutions that win will prove capability clearly and credibly at scale.
Credentials Cloud capabilities are being integrated into the SkillsTX Talent eXperience Platform, enabling organizations to baseline capability, verify uplift, and prove workforce readiness with evidence.
