NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. & BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - AussieJournal -- Angel Flight NE is pleased to announce that People's United Bank has made a $50,000 donation in support of its mission of coordinating free air transportation for patients in need of life-saving medical care outside of their geographic area.

For more than 25 years, Angel Flight NE (AFNE) has made a strong commitment and investment into New England Communities and well beyond. For this reason and many more, People's United Bank is supporting AFNE's mission with the goal of investing in the financial health of members within the communities that each organization serves.

People's United Bank's donation will enable Angel Flight NE to coordinate 200 missions/flights for patients and families in crisis and needing free air transportation to access specialized treatment for their specific medical condition.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to support Angel Flight NE and their life-changing mission for residents in need across the communities we serve," said Kirk Walters, SEVP, People's United Bank and 14-year Angel Flight NE volunteer pilot. "I have witnessed first-hand the impact these flights can have for families during what can be a challenging time. Through Angel Flight NE, our hope is that we can ease some of the burden these patients face so they can focus on what matters most, their recovery and family."
