GEELONG, Australia - AussieJournal -- 1.8 million acoustic guitars are sold every year in the USA, but what happens to them when they're no longer played?
Australian designer Ryan Mischkulnig has come up with a novel solution to the guitar waste problem, by inventing a DIY kit to turn your obsolete guitar into a beautiful Bluetooth speaker.
Rather than sitting idle, collecting dust, or worse still ending up in landfill, Ryan puts your unloved acoustic guitar to good use, turning it into the acoustic chamber of a bluetooth speaker. Simply remove the strings from your old acoustic guitar, slip one of his kits into the sound hole, add power and pump up the tunes!
His Re-Tuned Bluetooth speaker kits are designed to fit almost any full size acoustic guitar, breathing new life into as many old guitars as possible. They are also designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, with easy disassembly, damage free installation, and with all plastic components to be made locally from recycled plastic.
