HANOVER, Pa. - AussieJournal -- Hanover Area YMCA is excited to share plans for a redevelopment project geared towards
increasing capacity and welcoming more community members, to the North Hanover
location on George street. This comprehensive renovation plan is underway and
anticipated to be completed by mid-June.
Why the Redevelopment?
As the Hanover community continues to grow, The Y is committed to evolving alongside
it. The redevelopment project is a testament of our dedication to providing modern,
inclusive, and high-quality facilities that meet the changing needs of our members and
the expanding Hanover community.
What to Expect:
The Phase #1 redevelopment plan includes several exciting additions and enhancements,
such as:
Intergenerational Lobby: Offering a comfortable and collaborative environment
for remote workers, teens, active older adults and other members to connect.

Expanded Child Watch: With an increase of 300+ square feet, the new area
ensures a safe and engaging space for children while their parents utilize YMCA
services.
Creative Maker Space: This new addition allows us to increase family and teen
programming by fostering creativity and innovation among members.
New Pool Viewing Area: Provides parents a dedicated area to observe children
during swim lessons and swim team practices.
Healthy Living Kitchen: Providing additional space for individuals to learn and
connect through cooking classes and nutrition education.
The Hanover Area YMCA would like to thank our generous donors whose support makes
this possible, The Warehime Foundation, Don & Amy Smith Jr., and the YMCA's own
contributions. In addition, we are grateful for the continued support of our members,
community, and staff. If you are interested in learning more about supporting The Y
