SUNSHINE COAST, Australia - AussieJournal -- Sunshine Coast author and Canine Behaviour Specialist Sarah Rutten knows the secret to communicating with dogs. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, she's dedicated her career to understanding dog behaviour and training.
Now, Sarah is excited to share her insights in her new book, The Canine Perspective: Using Force-Free Methods to Unleash Your Dog's Pawtential. This book is designed for anyone who loves their dog and wants to deepen their understanding of canine behaviour.
Sarah's journey began two decades ago when she sought a fresh start. Combining her love for dogs with a thirst for knowledge, she gained multiple qualifications in dog training and behaviour, helping countless misunderstood pups and their owners along the way.
"I'm really passionate about what I do, not just about getting results for people but improving the lives and welfare of dogs," Sarah said. "Helping their guardians understand them and learn how to communicate inter-species is truly fascinating."
As a "force-free trainer," Sarah emphasizes understanding dog psychology and using positive reinforcement rather than pain or fear in the training process. She works primarily with reactive dogs, addressing the root causes of their behaviour—often anxiety or frustration.

"The key is to help dogs desensitize and become comfortable with their triggers," she explained. "When trained using force-free methods, dogs are encouraged to learn and think for themselves without the threat of negative consequences."
Having helped hundreds of happy hounds and their guardians, Sarah felt compelled to share her knowledge more widely. An Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, she now invites everyone to her in-person book launch event.
